Paper accepted in Information Systems

Our paper, Similarity Joins: Their Implementation and Interactions with Other Database Operators was accepted for publication in the Information Systems journal (Elsevier). This paper is co-authored by Dr. Yasin Silva and undergraduate students Spencer Pearson, Jaime Chon and Ryan Roberts.

Our paper, Index-Based R-S Similarity Joins was accepted at the 7th International Conference on Similarity Search and Applications (SISAP 2014). In this paper, we present a general index-based approach to solve the Similarity Join problem between two relations. We look forward to presenting our work in SISAP 2014.

Dr. Silva and Spencer attended the International Conference on Very Large Databases (VLDB'12) in Istanbul, Turkey to present DBSimJoin (system demonstration). DBSimJoin is our implementation of a Similarity Join operator inside the PostgreSQL database.
